The Calling Oak
is the name given to Rowney Green’s Monthly Village Newsletter, created and edited within the village and delivered free of charge to most households – all of which is done by volunteers.
If you do not receive a paper copy, you can view the latest edition below, as well as downloading older copies if you wish.
Although the newsletter can be viewed with a mobile phone, using full screen mode on a bigger screen is a better experience.
The ancient oak, after which it is named, still grows alongside Rowney Green Lane. Historically it was the place in the village where announcements were made.

Its position coincides with the line of the historic hedgerow which formed the boundary of the Alvechurch Bishop’s Palace Deer Park.
The much-loved publication reviews events that happened last month and looks forward to the following month. There are regular contributions from villagers, village contact details plus Editorial Comment.
